Mr Kieran Jefferson
MA(Cantab) BMBCh(Oxon) FRCS (Urol)
Mr Jefferson has been a consultant urological surgeon at University Hospital Coventry since 2006. He trained in medicine at Cambridge & Oxford Universities, representing Oxford as an oarsman. He undertook surgical & urological training in Bristol and the Southwestern Deanery. In 1999 he achieved the highest mark in Europe for the European Board of Urology In-service Examination. He has been on the Specialist Register for Urology since 2006. After completing his training, he undertook uro-oncology fellowship training in Bristol.
In 2014, with Mr MacDonald, he started a robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) service in Coventry. This service has performed more than 1800 RARP.
Mr Jefferson chaired the West Midlands expert advisory group for urological cancer from 2013-2018. He is the clinical govenance lead for the UHCW urology service.
In the past year, Mr Jefferson has developed an Aquablation practice, collaborating with PROCEPT Biorobotics and Warwickshire Nuffield Hospital.

Mr Donald MacDonald
BA(Cantab) BMBCh(Oxon) FRCS (Urol)
Mr MacDonald has been a consultant urological surgeon at University Hospital Coventry since 2012. He was a senior scholar at Caius College, Cambridge and won the John B Pearce Memorial Prize in Surgery at Oxford Universiy Medical School. He returned to Cambridge to teach anatomy, before basic surgical training at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London. Two years of research into bladder cancer at University College London was rewarded with the Guy Baines Gold Medal. His specialist urological training took place in the Midlands.
Since appointment he has introduced Da Vinci robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), prostate mapping biopsy and orthotopic neobladder surgery. UHCW is a National Reference Centre for MRI-TRUS fusion biopsy.

Mr Kevin Williams
MBBS(Birmingham) MD FRCS(Urol)
Mr. Williams is a highly respected consultant urological surgeon at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust, working at University Hospital Coventry and St Cross Hospital, Rugby. He is chairman of the Arden Urological Cancer SMDT.
He specialises in general urology with sub-specialty interests in the following areas:
- bladder cancer
- prostate cancer diagnostics (MRI/USS fusion transperineal biopsy)
- day-case urology
- bladder outflow surgery (HoLEP)
Graduating from the University of Birmingham in 2005, Mr. Williams completed his surgical training across West Midlands. He was awarded a Doctor of Medicine
degree from the University of Warwick for his research into prostate cancer and obesity..
Outside of the hospital, Mr Williams spends time with his family. He enjoys playing and coaching cricket, socialising, and cycling.
